To clarify:

The next -devel release of BusyBox will be GPLv2 only. The license on
previous versions is whatever they were released as (it doesn't retroactively
narrow), so they're still "or later". In addition, I plan to release the
upcoming 1.2.2 with the "or later" intact, since it's just a bugfix release
and the bugfixes I'm backporting are all from svn 16112 and earlier.

Glenn McGrath found this post from the FSF on Debian-legal, which covers
exactly this situation, and may help clarify matters for anyone still
confused:

(In general I consider this topic beaten to death and would like further
discussion to occur off-list, but I don't want to give anybody the wrong
idea.)
