Summary: File size limit in tar
Description:
Tar cannot handle files bigger than 2GB.

vda - 11-26-06 09:02
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of tar fixes before rev 16675. The only "real" limitation now is a
file size limit of 64Gb (not a tarfile size, size of an individual stored
file).
Other limitations are not important: uid/gid/username/gropname truncation
etc.
All of them can be fixed by adding support for pax headers. Currently we
just skip them.
