I don't see how this can fix anything, because CFLAGS/LDFLAGS are part
of TARGET_CONFIGURE_OPTS, which is already passed in the environment
when calling ./configure. From package/pkg-autotools.mk:

$$(TARGET_CONFIGURE_OPTS) \
