[Buildroot] Patches to be applied

Peter,

Here is a list of patches that I believe should be applied. I haven't
tested all of them, but they look ok in principle, and I believe we
should be a little bit more aggressive in applying patches whose
principle is good (the autobuilders are good at pointing to
implementation issues).
